As we celebrate Independence Day, we also begin looking ahead to a truly historic milestone: America's 250th anniversary. For two and a half centuries, our nation has stood as a beacon of freedom, opportunity, and self-government because generations of Americans have been willing to work hard, serve their communities, and defend the principles that make our country exceptional.

Here in Wyoming, those values are more than just part of our history—they're part of our way of life. We believe in personal responsibility, strong families, respect for our Constitution, and the freedom to build a better future through hard work. Those ideals have carried our nation through its greatest challenges, and they will continue to guide us for generations to come.

As we gather with family and friends this Fourth of July, let's take time to remember the sacrifices made by those who came before us and renew our commitment to preserving the freedoms we've been blessed to inherit. America's story is still being written, and each of us has a role to play in ensuring the next 250 years are just as strong as the first.
